1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
When you contact us, request a quote, or submit an inquiry through our website forms, we collect the personal information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, and physical address. We use this information strictly to process your requests, provide accurate project estimates, and communicate with you regarding our structural renovation and storage solution services.
2. Web Analytics and Advanced Tracking
We utilize Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to track and analyze website performance, traffic trends, and user interactions. GA4 automatically collects granular data, including your city-level location, device characteristics, browser type, and interaction history. This data allows us to optimize our website experience and maintain technical health.
3. User-Provided Data & Enhanced Ads Measurement
To improve marketing efficiency, we have activated advanced tracking features, including User ID collection and User-Provided Data collection. When you submit a form on this website, your first-party data (such as your email address and phone number) may be securely hashed using industry-standard encryption (SHA-256) and transmitted to Google.
Google uses this data to accurately track advertising conversions across different devices and sessions, ensuring our marketing capital is deployed effectively. This process is handled securely and in compliance with Google’s strict data protection terms.
4. Google Signals & Advertisement Personalization
We utilize Google Signals to collect cross-device insights. Google Analytics associates the visitation information it collects from our site with Google information from accounts of signed-in users who have consented to this association for the purpose of ads personalization. This data may include end-user location, search history, and YouTube activity. We use this anonymized, aggregated data to deliver targeted marketing campaigns and relevant promotional offers to users.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Like any commercial website, loftscapetown.co.za uses cookies. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent parts of this website from working correctly.
6. Third-Party Links and Embedded Content
Articles or pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g., maps, videos, or images). Embedded content from third-party websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the external website directly. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, or embed additional third-party tracking mechanisms.
7. Cross-Border Transfers of Information
Some of the services described above — notably Google — store and process data on servers outside South Africa, including in the United States and the European Union. Where personal information is transferred outside the Republic, we do so on a basis permitted by section 72 of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA): because the recipient is subject to binding rules or an agreement providing an adequate level of protection, because the transfer is necessary for the performance of a contract with you, or with your consent.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
- Enquiries that do not become jobs: up to 24 months from last contact, then deleted.
- Customer and project records: retained for the period required by South African tax and company law, and for the duration of any guarantee we have given.
- Marketing preferences and opt-outs: retained for as long as necessary to honour your choice.
- Website analytics data: retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics.
9. How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organisational measures to safeguard personal information, including HTTPS encryption across this website, access controls on our systems, and limiting access to staff who require it. No system is completely secure. If a security compromise occurs, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by section 22 of POPIA.
10. Direct Marketing
We will only send you electronic marketing communications where you have consented, or where you are an existing customer and the communication relates to similar services. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link. You may also opt out at any time, at no cost, by emailing info@loftscapetown.co.za.
11. User Control and Data Rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- Be notified that we are collecting your personal information
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction, destruction, or deletion of your information
- Object, on reasonable grounds, to our processing of your information
- Withdraw consent to direct marketing at any time, at no cost
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
To exercise any of these rights, email info@loftscapetown.co.za with the subject line “POPIA request”. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on the request.
You can additionally manage or opt out of Google’s advanced tracking and personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google’s My Ad Center or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
